A pair of stunning, freshly painted murals went up in San Francisco Chinatown to celebrate the first-time convergence of the Chinese New Year Parade and NBA All-Star Game in The City.

Sorell Tsui’s 36-foot-tall and 36-foot-wide mural uses a colorful tile aesthetic to depict the merging of one of basketball’s biggest events and the Chinese diaspora’s most important cultural celebration.

“I’m very proud of the work,” he said. “It’s such a monumental piece in such an amazing location. To have a large piece like this right in the heart of Chinatown is really special for me.”
