The Downtown Boone Development Association, in partnership with the Watauga Arts Council, contracted artist Scott Nurkin to paint the mural on Howard Street. This mural is part of the North Carolina Musicians Mural Trail, a program through the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDCR).
